In the summer, temperatures range from the mid 70s (24 degrees C) to mid 80s (30 degrees C) and in winter, the average temperature is 31 degrees  (-1 degrees C). If you’re visiting in winter, expect lots of snow.

Copper Mountain is only 75 miles west of Denver International Airport so your resort is just a quick shuttle or drive away when you land. Visitors driving Copper Mountain can take Interstate 70 and can’t miss it.

What to bring to Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain is laid-back and relaxed so you won’t need anything more formal than jeans and a fleece sweater. High altitudes make for high UV indexes so make sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, no matter when you’re visiting.

Things to do in Copper Mountain
While skiing and snowboarding are what makes Copper Mountain famous, there’s plenty to do in Copper Mountain no matter what the season. Snow tubing, ice skating, snowshoeing and hiking are just some of the winter activities available. In summer you can take advantage of the Copper Summer Day Pass which gives you access to bungee jumping, bumper boating, mini golf and more.

Staying safe and healthy in Copper Mountain
The air in Copper Mountain is very dry so make sure you stay hydrated. Avoid getting high altitude sickness by staying well-rested and drinking lots of water throughout your stay. Some physicians recommend taking altitude sickness medication just prior to visiting and for a few days into your visit. You can also limit the effects of the altitude by spending the night in Denver to get used to the lower oxygen levels before heading to Copper Mountain.
