"I moved here for the winter, but I stayed for the summer. I first heard this blasphemy upon my maiden voyage to a ski town. That’s right, a SKI town. Summer? Who cares? That was until I moved to Crested Butte, in the summer, and fell in love. There is so much activity in the summer. Downtown is a people watching mecca with virtually every restaurant and bar turned into an outdoor café. Everyone is on a bike. The mountains are painted with wildflowers. The event calendar is jam packed with this festival or that outdoor concert. Snowmobile trailers now carry boats and rafts. And the weather is the very definition of perfect: cool nights, warm days, and an afternoon thunderstorm that you could set your watch to. And while I would never claim to take summer over winter, I am okay with not seeing snow for at least a few months."
